The Rafael González Panetelas Extra is a Vegueritos vitola, measuring 127mm with a 37 ring gauge.
This cigars is a hidden gem, it has been around since the 1930s.
Like others cigars from Rafael González, the Panetelas Extra is very smooth and mild. It delivers a light-bodied smoke with delicate floral, chocolate and almond notes to start. Additional flavors of spice, cream and espresso are revealed in the second third while the body increases to a medium strength. The blend is excellent and you can expect a sweet and truly enjoyable smoking.

The Rafael González’s brand was created in the 1930’s originally under the name of Lonsdale, after Lord Lonsdale. On its lid label each box carries a curious inscription written in English to the effect that the cigars should be smoked within one month of the date of shipment from Havana or otherwise they should be carefully matured for about one year. All sizes are made with filler and binder leaves coming from the premium Vuelta Abajo region and it is characterized by a light strength. Rafael González vitolas are made “Totalmente a Mano con Tripa Larga” – Totally Handmade with Long Filler and just one, the Rafael González Perlas, is made with short filler technique.
