Monymusk MBS Pure Single Rum
Monymusk 9-Year 2010 MBS Jamaican Rum originates from Jamaica, a land known for its rich rum heritage. In the early 19th century, Jamaica was the world's leading rum producer, with numerous sugar estates and distilleries. Like other former British colonies such as Barbados, Trinidad, and Guyana, Jamaica supplied rum to British blenders in Europe, and distilleries didn't release their own official bottlings. Instead, British blenders would obtain various rums from different colonies, bringing fresh unaged liquid to Europe for blending and aging. This diversity allowed for various styles, providing numerous options for European brand creation.
The Clarendon distillery blends tradition and modernity, featuring a multi-column still and two stills (Vendome and Calandria-i). Monymusk, located in the southern part of the island, follows the same tradition as the great Jamaican distilleries, producing its own unique marks, including EMB, which is associated with the closed Bog Estate (shut down in 1948) and falls under the Wedderburn category.
Monymusk 9-Year 2010 MBS Jamaican Rum is part of the Velier National Rums of Jamaica (NRJ) series.
