Juan López Expedition is a Habanos Edición Regional for South Africa (Sudáfrica), handmade in Cuba as a limited, numbered production. The cigar uses the factory name Magnum 54 and measures 54 ring gauge x 120 mm (4¾"), with an official stated weight of 12.69 g per cigar. The box insert specifies “Totalmente a mano con Tripa Larga” (totally handmade, long filler) and identifies the tobacco as coming from Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Río, Cuba. Each cigar carries the standard Juan López band (Band B) plus the South Africa Regional Edition band.
It is presented in an individually numbered slide-lid box of 10 cigars, with a total production of 6,000 numbered boxes (60,000 cigars). The insert is dated Habanos, S.A., Cuba, 2025, and names The Cigar Company Ltd. as the exclusive distributor of Habanos for South Africa.

Juan López Diaz, a Spanish impresario, moved to Cuba to found the brand Juan López in 1870. A dream that materialized into reality and resulted in a brand held in high regard for its premium cigar. The Selección No.1 and the Selección No.2 basically make up the brand’s vitolario. All its vitolario presents a consistent flavor and is composed of vitolas made “Totally by Hand with Long Tripe”, with a blend composed of tripe and cape leaves from the Vuelta Abajo region.
